About MTG and Its Founders
Manufacturing Technology Group, Inc (MTG), was founded in 1996 by two manufacturing engineers previously employed by the Digital Equipment Corporation, which was the largest manufacturer of mini-computers in the world. Jack Adam, former Engineering Manager for Digital, and Dick Carver, former Principal Engineer, opened this facility in Westfield, Massachusetts to take advantage of the skilled workforce that became available with the closing of the DEC facility at the time. With the vast knowledge and experience gained at DEC, which had the largest fabrication shop east of the Mississippi River, it was easy to assist customers in developing products that were cost and quality effective and met their customers' needs.
To this day, MTG still supports some of the original businesses for the past 26 years. We have received many accolades over the years for the quality and assistance provided to our customers in helping them meet their goals. MTG originally offered cutting and bending, and expanded to support all aspects of manufacturing. As a job shop, we produce a large variety of small production runs from simple shapes, to complex welded assemblies, made to order from customer prints. Since we have been in business, MTG has become a major contributor to several large companies' efforts to improve quality and reduce product cost. We utilize ABC costing methods to ensure proper pricing of products.
MTG started in an 8,000 sq. ft. leased facility, to a new 40,000 sq. ft. facility, all the way to where we are now with our 67,000 sq. ft. building. We have the equipment, the people, and the experience necessary, offering our customers quality parts at excellent prices.
